Ravi Yadav a robust young man, works at the farmhouse of Manohar Singh as his major domo. Ravi’s life revolves around two people. His kid brother Rohan, who is the apple of his eye, and Singh’s wife Renuka, whom he simply worships. Singh, however, suspects Renuka of infidelity , and in a fit of jealous rage, hatches a plot along with the local thug Jaggu, and Ravi is accused of the rape and murder of innocent Parvati, and condemned to the gallows for twelve years. Fearing Jaggu, the real culprit, to be a constant source of blackmail, Singh , in one master stroke decides to kill two birds with one stone, and does away with both Jaggu and his own wife Renuka.

The now totally orphaned child Rohan is brought up under the tender loving care of Renuka’s friend Yashoda, who Childness, sees in Rohan her dreams of motherhood finally coming true. Yashoda's husband, a flourishing lawyer called Suryakant Gujral, is however much against the adoption of Rohan. He refuses to acknowledge him as his son. Yashoda, to erase the scars of Rohan's childhood, give him a new identity, and Rohan Yadav becomes Vasu Gujral.

Vasu grows up to be a lawyer of outstanding repute. He firmly believes that justice delayed is justice denied. With his quick fire and practical approach, he wins one law suit after another, and in the process also makes enemies of such devilish people such as Manohar Singh who is hell bent on getting him out of his way for Vasu’s penchant for justice , has rendered Manohar Singh's coffers empty. But Vasu marches on, undaunted with music in his heart, and a song on his lips. And Payal’s love forever in his life.

Payal, sweet, young, innocent, vivacious Payal, who gives Vasu’s life a new meaning. Yet, at times, the memories of his traumatic childhood come flooding back, and with all the success achieved in the field of justice, Vasu has but one burning ambition –to be united once again with his brother Ravi Yadav unknown to him, Ravi released from jail has unwillingly once again become a pawn in the hands of Manohar Singh, the two brothers are headed for a clash.
